I was asked to document Shawn through the making of his fifth album. We'd been working together since 2021 doing social media and BTS content. In 2024, something about where he was musically felt like a natural match for where I was visually.
We followed him wherever the record took him. By a cold river in Washington. In the dense fog of a mountain in Kauai. In a hot field of four-leaf clovers in Tennessee. Whether it was for the album cover, a music video, or nothing at all — the goal was always the same: catch him as honestly as possible, in the middle of it. Never too much planning, just listening.
